Mission Mart is a thrift store staffed 90% by volunteers, ensuring higher net profit margin to support the everyday work of Souls Harbour - providing food, clothing, shelter, and recovery in 15 locations across Nova Scotia, as well as future growth. A Mission Marty will be a person who thrives with routine tasks and can concentrate in a busy environment.

Qualifications:

- Must show an interest in social entrepreneurship - a business that supports charity
- Friendly and approachable customer service skills
- Willing to delegate by providing instruction and training
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Hard working & flexible: able to deal with changing duties
- Team player - able to work within a staff and volunteer team environment
- Ability to handle physical requirements: stand and/or walk for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting and safely lift up to 20 lbs as needed
- Knowledge and experience in related retail field an asset

Schedule:

Full Time - mix of day, evening and weekend shifts

Specific Duties:

- Operate POS (Point-of-Sale) system accurately, including cash, debit, credit, gift cards, and loyalty programs
- Process transactions, exchanges, and returns in accordance with store policies
- Count cash drawers, handle cash responsibly, and ensure accuracy at all times




- Ensure all priced and processed items are promptly moved from production to the floor.
- Merchandise and replenish product on sales floor to ensure shelves and racks remain full and organized and create and maintain appealing product displays in alignment with merchandising standards.
- Tidy clothing racks, straighten merchandise, and maintain visual standards throughout store
- Clean and maintain sales floor areas and fitting rooms, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and general tidying.
- Support overall store operations and the needs ot the Mission by maintaining productivity goals and contributing to a positive team environment for customers, volunteers, and donors.
- Create a positive, uplifting environment for customers, volunteers and donors
- Support the needs of the Mission
