Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, and securing sheet metal components across various commercial and residential building projects.

This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, proficiency with hand and power tools, and hands-on experience in construction environments. The Sheet Metal Installer will work closely with project managers and other trade professionals to ensure exact installation and strict adherence to safety standards, offering an excellent opportunity to develop specialized technical skills within a dynamic setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine precise installation requirements.
- Fabrication & Assembly: Measure, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- HVAC & Ductwork Installation: Install ductwork, ventilation systems, HVAC components, and other sheet metal assemblies in commercial or residential buildings.
- Fastening & Joining: Securely fasten sheet metal parts using appropriate techniques such as welding, soldering, or mechanical fasteners.
- Cross-Trade Collaboration: Collaborate with carpenters, masons, electricians, and other trades to coordinate seamless installation activities.
- Compliance & Safety:



Ensure all work strictly complies with local safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
- Custom Fabrication: Assist in the fabrication of custom sheet metal parts as needed for specialized projects.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to promote jobsite efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

- Tool Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency using hand tools (snips, hammers, drills, measuring devices) and power tools (shears, presses, bending machines).
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Physical & Environmental Agility: Ability to work safely at heights, on ladders/scaffolding, or in confined spaces as required by project demands.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong spatial awareness, and fine attention to detail.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred & Assets:

- Sheet Metal License / Journeyman Certification (e.g., 308A or equivalent) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with construction estimating, caulking techniques, or custom metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of complementary construction trades (e.g., welding, plumbing, electrical, masonry, or concrete forming).
- Ability or certification to operate heavy equipment related to construction or restoration projects.

Pay: $19.00-$50.00 per hour
