General Summary:

In this role, you will assist research and development efforts for our core product lines, including diesel-fired heaters and recent heating technologies. You will be creating production-ready SolidWorks models, as well as prototyping, testing, and overseeing regulatory certification. You will bridge the gap between engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing documentation to support existing products, and to bring new products to market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Product R&D;: Drive the research and development of new products related to diesel-fired heaters, hydronic heating systems, and future product lines.
- CAD Modeling & Design: Create precision 3D models, assembly drawings, and detailed fabrication/manufacturing engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prototyping & Testing: Hands-on assembly, setup, and performance testing of physical prototypes in the lab or workshop environment.
- Product Certification: Coordinate, execute, and document regulatory and safety certification testing for new product lines (e.g., CSA, UL, CE).
- Manufacturing & Technical Documentation: Generate complete Bills of Materials (BOMs), material supply lists, and production binders for assembly teams. Write clear technical documentation, including technical bulletins, installation/service manuals, and user guides.

Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Documentation Control: Maintain strict revision control and system organization for all engineering drawings, designs, and technical files.

Job Specifications:

- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, or a related technical field.
- SolidWorks Expertise: 3+ years of professional experience creating complex 3D models and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
- Hands-on Mechanical Skills: Direct experience in prototype assembly, fabrication, and thermal/mechanical testing environments.
- Thermal / Combustion Knowledge: Familiarity with fluid dynamics, heat transfer, combustion systems, or diesel-fired appliances is strongly preferred.
- Documentation Skills: Exceptional attention to detail in technical writing, BOM management, and revision tracking.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Prior experience with product certification processes (CSA, UL, ISO compliance, etc.) is highly desirable.
