POSITION SUMMARY:

The EarlyON Relief Program Coordinator provides coverage for the delivery of high-quality EarlyON Child and Family Centre programming for children aged 0–6 years and their families at Yonge Eglinton Community Centre. Working collaboratively with the EarlyON team, the Relief Program Coordinator supports the planning, facilitation, and implementation of engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programs while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and positive setting for children and caregivers.

RESPONSIBILITES:

· Create a safe and enriching environment conducive to the development of physical, social and cognitive skills in children.

· Establish and maintain positive rapport, information sharing and public relations/outreach with all parents and caregivers who are attending programs. Maintain a supportive, cooperative environment, which facilitates parent/caregiver involvement in tasks and child supervision.

· Attend meetings, training and workshops as required.

· Support the promotion of our EarlyON programs in the community, assist with building community partnerships, and encourage family participation in program evaluation and research activities.

· Support the planning, preparation, facilitation, and evaluation of YECC's intergenerational Cooking Connections program, fostering meaningful engagement between EarlyON families, older adults, volunteers, and community partners.

· Maintain program areas, including kitchen, in a safe, clean and inviting manner,



by checking the safety of furniture and equipment, washing and disinfecting toys and equipment, and ensuring general tidiness.

· Prepare and serve nutritious snacks for EarlyON programs and assist with food preparation and kitchen operations for special programming, including the Cooking Connections intergenerational cooking program, while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.

· Additional spoken languages are an asset.

· Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· RECE and must be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).

· Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s pedagogy on how to implement inquiry and play-based learning program for children birth to six years of age.

· Experience working with children aged 0-6 years and their families.

· Experience within an EarlyON Child and Family Centre setting is an asset.

· Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different program settings and team environments.

· Current CPR/first aid training.

· Must be willing to obtain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate.

· Satisfactory Police Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
