Location: North York, ON – Hybrid

Contract Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension (extendable up to 1-2 additional years) or possibility of conversion

Pay Rate: $50-70/hour as T4 or INC

Job Title: Utilities Engineer

Qualifications and Experience

Education and Qualifications

- University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience and Technical Knowledge

- Demonstrated knowledge of civil and utility engineering principles for underground infrastructure.
- Four (4) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a civil engineering or municipal infrastructure environment, gained as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET), Municipal CET, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Working knowledge of Ontario municipal and utility regulatory frameworks.
- Experience reviewing utility‑related engineering designs and submissions.
- Understanding of project management principles, including cost and schedule control.
- Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.




- Ability to maintain accurate and well‑documented records of commitments and approvals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.

Additional Requirements

- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Certification as a Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.), Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required safety and operating certifications.
- Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire, accessibility obligations and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Assets

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
