Regional Agronomic Account Manager
Central Alberta | Permanent Full Time
Taurus Agricultural Marketing Inc. is recruiting a Regional Agronomic Account Manager - Central Alberta. This is a role for someone who wants to change how Canadian farms approach fertility, not just sell into the way things have always been done.
Why Taurus?
For 25 years, Taurus has been setting the gold standard in Canadian agriculture. We curate a portfolio of the most innovative fertility solutions from manufacturers around the world, validate them with agronomic research, and bring them to growers through the strongest retail and agronomy network in Canada. When a technology earns its way into the Taurus portfolio, it is because the science holds up and the return is real.
That standard applies to our people too. We value agronomists who are masters of the sales process and relationships, and sales professionals who are equally well versed in agronomy. We give our people the tools, training, and autonomy to run their territory like it is their own business. Taurus does not keep pace with this industry. We move it. If that is the kind of company you have been looking for, keep reading.
The Role
You will own Central Alberta. You will be the fertility authority in your territory, the person retailers call when the agronomy gets complicated and the person growers call when the decision gets complex. Your job is to grow adoption of industry leading Seed, Soil, and Plant Fertility solutions by out knowing, out working, and out teaching everyone else calling on the same accounts.
You will be backed by a curated global portfolio, a modern CRM, digital agronomic tools, structured sales training, and an executive team that keeps building better systems for the field. We supply the leverage. You supply the drive.
This Role Is Built For You If
- You are confident presenting agronomy to a room of growers, a skeptical retail manager, or a kitchen table at 9 am, and your confidence comes from knowing your material
- You are a self starter who builds your own plan and runs your own week, yet a team player who drives the business as a whole and stays open to growth
- You are relentlessly curious.
You read the research, walk the trials, ask why, and never consider yourself finished learning
- You share what you learn. When you figure something out, your customers and teammates hear about it, because knowledge you keep to yourself changes nothing
- You want to leave the industry better than you found it, and you see every acre in your territory as a chance to prove there is a better way
What You Will Own
Territory Growth
- Build and deepen relationships with retailers, agronomists, consultants, and growers across your region
- Drive brand awareness, market share, and adoption of the Taurus portfolio through direct sales calls, meetings, and presentations
- Represent Taurus at tradeshows, grower events, and field trials, and make those appearances count
Agronomic Leadership
- Deliver research backed insight that helps customers build fertility strategies that pay
- Translate trial data and science into clear, confident recommendations growers can act on
Continuous Improvement
- Utilize Taurus sales training tools regularly to sharpen your product knowledge, agronomy, and selling skills, then bring what you learn back to the team
- Adopt and consistently use the tools, systems, and resources brought forward by the executive team, including digital agronomic tools and sales enablement resources
Territory Discipline
- Keep the CRM accurate and current as part of your regular routine. Accounts, contacts, activities, and opportunities stay up to date because the best territory managers run on real information, and so does this team
What You Must Bring
Agronomy and sales. Both. This is not negotiable. You must be agronomically literate enough to hold your own with skilled agronomists,
and proven enough in sales to turn that knowledge into adoption.
- B.Sc. in Agriculture or an Agricultural Diploma with a focus on crop sciences. Candidates with extensive field experience in agronomy, soil health, plant and seed fertility, and biological inoculants will also be considered
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of successful experience in ag sales and marketing, retail or wholesale, with agronomic depth behind it
- We highly value candidates who have sold at the agricultural retail level for a minimum of 2 years, because that is where you learn to understand our customers firsthand
- A track record you are proud to talk about: territories grown, programs launched, practices changed
- Comfort working in a CRM daily and using digital tools as a core part of how you sell
- Previous experience covering this region is considered an asset
