Overview

We are seeking an energetic and passionate Strength and Conditioning Coach/Kinesiologist to join our team as an independent contractor. Our ideal candidate will have strong skills in: leadership, mentorship, communication, organization, cleanliness, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Key responsibilities include facilitating sports team training sessions. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with our team to uphold our values, ethics, and standards of practice.
- Facilitate group and team training sessions for a range of young athletes, ranging from a few athletes up to full teams, both on-site in the gym and off-site (seasonally) at outdoor locations.
- Facilitate personal training sessions independently and seek out personal training clientele.
- Develop customized training programs tailored to individual athlete/client needs and goals; and make program adjustments real-time for those requiring modifications.
- Use software related to programming, scheduling and invoicing.
- Educate and instruct athletes and clients on proper exercise technique.
- Lead and supervise training sessions, providing ongoing coaching and support.
- Conduct physical baseline assessments with individual clients, and intensive group/team fitness testing.
- Maintain a clean and organized training environment for health and safety.
- Cultivate an energetic, positive training atmosphere that encourages group cohesion, a supportive community, discipline, and maximal engagement and effort.
- Scheduling, invoicing, and various administrative tasks associated with the above responsibilities.




- Personally maintain independent contractor requirements such as invoicing and collecting HST (if applicable).

Required Certifications, Experience & Skills

- CSCS-NSCA or Registered Kinesiologist (R. Kin.) is required.
- Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology/Human Kinetics is required.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (no less than 1 year old) is required.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification is required.
- Previous experience (2+ years) as a strength coach and/or personal trainer is required.
- Previous experience working specifically with youth is preferred.
- Previous experience working with large groups (15+) is preferred.
- Previous experience working with injury rehabilitation is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to: connect with a variety of athletes and clients; effectively physically and verbally demonstrate instructions; and facilitate efficient group training.
- High-level organization, planning, and efficient facilitation skills are necessary.
- The ability to think critically and effectively on the spot to make appropriate adjustments for individual needs/limitations, especially in a group setting, is critical.
- Cleanliness and attention to detail of a busy training environment are necessary skills.
- An honest passion for your own health, wellness, and performance, and helping others achieve their goals is essential.
