PURPOSE OF POSITION

Customer satisfaction through quality repair of client jobs in a cost effective, productive and timely manner and ensure that the reputation of Seymour-Smith Electric as the place to have work done is never compromised.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide quality and efficient mechanical and electrical repairs to a wide array of electro-mechanical equipment to ensure the customer receives a lasting repair and temporary repairs are only done when no other option is available and the customer is notified and in agreement.
- Provide and record effective mechanical and electrical test on all jobs when possible to ensure management’s ability to quantify the quality of repair without your presence.
- Record what time and materials were used on each job
- Study job orders, read and interpret engineering drawings to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
- Set up and operate manual mill and lathe to perform machining operations, such as trimming impellers, machining shafts and sleeves, re bush housings, etc.




- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Assist other technicians in completing their task in a timely manner when required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Manual machining experience required.
- Millwrighting, pump and motor repair or welding experience would be an asset
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Attention to Detail
- Complete set of basic tools
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal & written)
- Able to lift 50lbs, and utilize over head cranes for heavier items

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:
