ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Medical Imaging Program of NL Health Services – Eastern Urban Zone is seeking a Neuro Interventional Radiologist to join the team in St. John's, NL. The successful candidate will work closely with the Neuro IR team as well as Neurology and Neurosurgery, and will fully participate in the Provincial Code Stroke Program.





The successful candidate will join a group of approximately 40 Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians providing tertiary care services to the local community and province. The group practice is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and its Radiology Residency training program, providing opportunities for research and teaching.

The group offers a busy service in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, and General X-ray, with a full scope of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures including supporting a busy Cancer Clinic. The Nuclear Medicine department offers a full array of services including two PET-CT scanners. Services are provided in a hybrid setting of in-hospital and work-from-home options. The city-based group also provides support to rural sites and occasional travel may be required.

The successful candidate will work primarily in diagnostic and interventional Neuro Radiology with some general Radiology. On-call responsibilities are shared with Radiology Residents with an option to perform some call duties from home. Both full-time and part-time options are available.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Radiology (or equivalent)




- Fellowship training in Neuro Interventional Radiology (required)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide diagnostic and interventional Neuro Radiology services as a primary focus, with some general Radiology
- Work closely with the Neuro IR team, Neurology, and Neurosurgery
- Participate fully in the Provincial Code Stroke Program
- Support the Cancer Clinic through vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures
- Contribute to research and teaching through the Memorial University affiliation
- Participate in on-call coverage shared equitably with Radiology Residents with home call options available
- Provide occasional support to rural sites as required
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is competitive and in accordance with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association Memorandum of Agreement and MCP Fee Schedule. The successful candidate will join the group practice which has a shared income and expense model.
