About the role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Prepared Foods Clerk to join our small team on a part-time basis. In this role, you'll prepare fresh, ready-to-sell items like guacamole, salsas, dips, and similar prepared foods to consistent recipes and quality standards. This is hands-on, recipe-driven work — if you're comfortable following a formula precisely, working efficiently, and taking pride in a consistent finished product, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare guacamole, salsas, dips, and other prepared foods to standardized recipes, ensuring consistent taste, texture, and appearance batch to batch
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion produce and other ingredients as needed for prepared items
- Package and label finished product with accurate weights, pricing, and best-before dates
- Inspect ingredients before and during prep, discarding anything damaged, bruised, or substandard
- Rotate stock using FIFO practices to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper knife handling, surface cleaning, and temperature control protocols
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain prep equipment, cutting boards,



and work surfaces throughout and at the end of each shift
- Keep the prepared foods display stocked, tidy, and visually appealing

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in food prep, a kitchen, deli, or similar environment is strongly preferred
- Comfortable following recipes and standardized ratios precisely and consistently
- Good knife skills and the ability to work efficiently
- Solid attention to detail — consistent quality across every batch matters
- Knowledge of food safety and handling practices; a Food Handler Certificate is an asset (or willingness to obtain one)
- Comfortable working in cold environments, including walk-in refrigerators and chilled prep areas
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in a clean, well-run workspace

Working conditions

- Part-time position; hours and days will vary based on business needs and store schedule
- Some weekends may be required
- Regular exposure to cold temperatures in prep and refrigerated areas
- Repetitive, hands-on role requiring sustained focus
