- Ensure safe work systems/procedures including inspections are always practised and adhered to ensuring duties are performed in a manner that minimises risk to self, employees, and contractors.
- Always maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work workplace.
- Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.
- Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures.

- Initiate and provide input into company directives in collaboration with the Site Management team.

- Ensure good, clear lines of communication between all stakeholders, including the Site Management team, co-workers, and contractors

Knowledge / Skills / Duties

- Perform pre-operational and post-operational checks




- Read and accurately follow mine instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile
- Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised hydraulic or electric Jumbo drill to suit conditions of the drive
- Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements
- Carry our underground development and production work, stripping, ground support and other mining tasks
- Ensure that all tools are serviceable and safe.
- When required, Supervise and trains operator, and works with trades and non-trades persons carrying out other tasks in and around the underground mine

Teamwork

- Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres.
- Lead a crew of workers
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals – both within own department and site wide.
- Leverage the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems
- Deputise for the UG Shift Supervisor in their absence

Planning & Organisation

- Prioritise and complete tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within required timeframes.
- Proactively identify and address hazards before they arise as issues.
- Be punctual to work and all required site meetings.
- Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed
