Summary

This role will be the primary contact and leadership voice for their specific produce category. They will be responsible for management of all aspects of supply, demand, processing and waste. This role will hold profit and loss accountability for their produce and associated business unit.

Job Duties

Sourcing:

- Building business relationships, negotiating and on-boarding of produce vendors
- Manage grower base by region, country
- Demand planning: Assessing incoming loads of produce and determine appropriate routing for that load (destination: Eastern/Western Canada, USA, International)
- Manage costing
- Managing Specifications for Produce and Labelling (UPC/PLU/Bilingual)

Managing Claims

- Timeliness
- Reviewing Quality Control reports for loads and actioning accordingly

Inventory Management

o Produce

- Managing In-stock/FIFO (as appropriate)
- Forecast and monitor repackaging and regrading activities and associated packaging requirements
- Management of Returns, Market, Waste and Donations programs
- Assure maintenance of correct inventory records and providing adjustments to inventory team as required

o Non-Produce





- Negotiating packaging requirements with customers and assure correct non-produce item specifications are available for procurement team

Sales

- Manage Sales Price
- Developing and implementing growth strategies to achieve higher sales with Customers
- Managing ads and discounted sales as appropriate

Final Payment Details

- Reviewing and approving vendor invoices in a timely fashion for payment

This role will be evaluated based on the individual’s ability to manage the following KPIs:

- Total Sales (increase)

- Fill Rate (increase)
- Contingency Buys (decrease)
- Produce Waste (decrease)
- Packaging Waste (decrease)
- Products require on-site repackaging (decrease)
- Forecast Accuracy (increase)
- Produce sold to secondary markets (decrease)
- Days on hand (decrease)
