National Bank of Canada Capital Markets (“NBCCM”) is a leading North American investment dealer with an established franchise in power and infrastructure finance. NBCCM provides project finance advisory, lending, and capital markets solutions to sponsors, developers, corporates, and financial investors across power, renewables, utilities, and energy infrastructure.

NBCCM is seeking a Vice President / Director to join its Global Power and Infrastructure Financing ("GPIF") team in New York, with primary responsibility for U.S. power project debt advisory origination and execution.

The role is suited to an experienced project finance professional with a strong track record of structuring and executing complex financings, managing senior client relationships, and coordinating effectively across product teams. Title and scope are commensurate with experience; candidates are expected to independently originate mandates and assist in managing key client relationships.

Your job

Origination & Client Coverage

- Originate and execute debt advisory and capital markets mandates across power, renewables, utilities, and midstream
- Act as a senior advisor to sponsors, developers, corporates, and financial investors
- Maintain active client coverage with investment banking, lending, and capital markets partners
- Drive cross-sell opportunities across construction financing, term debt, private placements, and bonds

Transaction Execution

- Lead execution from structuring through financial close
- Oversee project finance models, sensitivities, and credit analysis
- Manage preparation of marketing, diligence, and investor materials
- Coordinate internal teams across lending, capital markets, legal, and risk
- Support negotiation of key commercial terms and documentation

Platform Contribution & Collaboration

- Support development of NBCCM’s U.S. power and infrastructure advisory platform
- Partner with Canadian and U.S. teams on cross-border transactions




- Collaborate across product groups to deliver integrated financing solutions

Team Leadership & Development

- Mentor and oversee Associates and Analysts
- Support recruiting, training, and team development initiatives
- Maintain high execution standards and efficient deal management

Your team

The GPIF team operates within NBCCM’s industry-driven model and works in close coordination with the project finance lending, debt capital markets, and investment banking teams focused on power and infrastructure.

Our training programs use on-the-job learning to help you master your role. You’ll also have access to colleagues with a wide range of expertise, experience and backgrounds to enrich all aspects of your development.

Prerequisite

- 7–10+ years of experience in project finance advisory, infrastructure investment banking, project finance lending, or related capital markets roles
- Direct transaction experience across power, renewables, utilities, and/or midstream infrastructure
- Strong understanding of project finance structures, credit analysis, and institutional debt markets
- Existing relationships with U.S.-based sponsors, lenders, and institutional investors preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions with limited supervision
- Strong financial modeling, structuring, and analytical capabilities
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base salary range for this position is: $250,000 – 300,000 USD/year.

This position is eligible for variable compensation also
