Household Assistant & Home Organizer

Location: East Scarborough, ON
Job Type: Part-time (Approximately 9-12 hours per week)
Schedule: Three weekdays per week (approximately 3-4 hours per day). Days and times are flexible and can be discussed in advance.

Compensation: $22 to $27 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Household Assistant & Home Organizer to help keep our home running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys creating organized spaces, implementing practical household systems, and taking pride in maintaining a tidy/clean, welcoming home. (This is not a position for deep cleaning services)

This position is about more than housekeeping. We're looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, enjoys bringing order to everyday life, and can work independently while supporting the overall flow of the household.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including dishes, wiping surfaces, and keeping cupboards and countertops tidy.
- Assist with meal preparation by washing and chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, portioning meals, and organizing food for the week.
- Perform daily household tidying to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Empty household garbage, recycling, and green bins, replace liners, and keep waste and recycling areas clean and refreshed.




- Change bed linens and refresh bedrooms and living spaces.
- Organize closets, cupboards, pantry, refrigerator, drawers, and storage areas.
- Develop and implement practical organization systems that improve household efficiency and simplify daily routines.
- Monitor household supplies and notify the homeowner when items need to be replenished.
- Unpack grocery deliveries or complete occasional grocery shopping and errands as needed.
- Take initiative by identifying tasks that help the household run smoothly without requiring constant direction.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Enjoys meal preparation, including washing, chopping, portioning, and organizing food for the week (no cooking required).
- Is comfortable performing household tasks such as laundry, lifting grocery bags, and light household duties.
- Has previous experience in housekeeping, home organization, hospitality, personal assistance, or household management.
- Has reliable transportation to East Scarborough.

Employment Schedule

This position is intended to provide ongoing, long-term part-time employment.

The successful candidate can expect:

- July and August: Approximately 3 to 4 days per week (9 to 16 hours per week), supporting the household during its busiest season.
- September through June: Approximately 1 to 2 days per week (4 to 8 hours per week), providing ongoing household support and maintenance.

The schedule may occasionally vary based on household needs, vacations, or mutual availability. Days of the week are flexible and will be discussed in advance with the successful candidate.
