We are seeking an experienced and dependable Stone Installer / Landscape Construction Team Lead to oversee a small crew and take an active, hands-on role in the construction of patios, walkways, retaining walls, garden features, and complete landscape projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew, providing clear daily direction and guidance.
- Review project plans, organize daily tasks, and coordinate materials, tools, and equipment.
- Lay out projects and establish proper grades, elevations, slopes, drainage, and finished heights.
- Excavate and prepare bases for patios, walkways, driveways, steps, retaining walls, and other hardscape features.
- Install interlocking concrete pavers, natural stone, concrete products, edging, steps, and coping.
- Construct segmental retaining walls, garden walls, stone pillars, entrances, and other landscape structures.
- Cut, shape, level, and finish stone and concrete products accurately.
- Operate skid steers, mini excavators, compactors, concrete saws, and other landscape construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Lead planting and softscape installations, including trees, shrubs, perennials, soil, sod, and mulch.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and AIRO Landscapes’ quality standards.
- Track daily progress and communicate material, scheduling, equipment,



or site concerns to the project manager.
- Promote safe work practices, participate in safety meetings, and ensure required personal protective equipment is used.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, suppliers, team members, and the public.

Qualifications and Experience

- Previous experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, stone installation, masonry, concrete work, or a related construction field is required.
- Strong working knowledge of excavation, base preparation, compaction, grading, drainage, and hardscape installation methods.
- Demonstrated experience installing pavers, natural stone, steps, and retaining walls.
- Previous crew-lead, supervisory, or project coordination experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience operating a skid steer and mini excavator is required.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, measurements, elevations, and construction details.
- Ability to calculate material quantities and identify potential site or construction issues.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship.
- Able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team.




- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials and performing demanding outdoor work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation required.
- Steel-toe safety boots and appropriate work clothing required.

Additional Assets

- Experience towing and maneuvering equipment trailers.
- Experience with armour stone, natural stone masonry, outdoor kitchens, pillars, lighting, irrigation, decks, or fences.
- First Aid, WHMIS, Powerline Hazards, Traffic Control Person, or other relevant safety training.
- A clean driver’s abstract.
