Job Summary

SGH Transport is seeking a motivated Junior Dispatcher to join our operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in transportation and logistics.

The successful candidate will work closely with dispatch, operations, and sales to coordinate freight movements, communicate with drivers and customers, and ensure shipments are handled efficiently. We're looking for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist dispatchers with daily freight planning and load coordination.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and carriers regarding pickups, deliveries, and shipment updates.
- Monitor shipments and proactively resolve issues to maintain excellent customer service.
- Manage incoming customer and vendor calls and emails.
- Update and maintain transportation management systems and shipping software.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and load tracking.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to maximize equipment utilization.
- Support pricing and load coverage as required.
- Perform other dispatch and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of experience using LoadLink.




- Previous dispatching or transportation experience is preferred.
- Experience with container and intermodal transportation is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Additional languages (French, Punjabi, Hindi, Spanish, etc.) are considered an asset.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
