Key responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide range of traditional Indian sweets
- Innovate and develop new fusion sweets and contemporary desserts.
- Manage daily sweet production to meet demand while minimizing waste.
- Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
- Monitor ingredient inventory and coordinate with procurement to restock supplies.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of sweets.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff if required.
- Follow and enforce all food safety and quality regulations.
- Take feedback and continuously improve recipes and production methods.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a professional sweet-making/kitchen environment.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian sweets and ability to replicate classic flavors with precision.
- Skills: Strong understanding of sugar cooking, ghee-based sweets, dairy-based confections, and regional specialties.
- Creativity:
Ability to innovate and create new recipes or modern takes on traditional sweets.
- Hygiene: Strong commitment to cleanliness and food safety practices.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team and manage staff as needed.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and festival seasons as per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in culinary arts or food production (not mandatory if experience is strong).
- Experience working in a reputed sweet shop, restaurant, or catering business.
- Basic knowledge of cost control and kitchen management.
- Positive Knowledge of ingredients and their quantities for making sweets
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must be flexible to work in any shift (early morning, morning, and closing shifts)
- Good knowledge of chemical handling procedures with the required PPE
