Assistant Parts Manager – Powersports DealershipGrande Prairie Motorsports
Grande Prairie Motorsports is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Parts Manager to help lead our busy powersports Parts department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive, motorcycle, ATV, side-by-side, snowmobile, marine, or powersports professional who is ready to take the next step into dealership leadership. The successful candidate will support the Parts Manager in improving department sales, inventory performance, customer service, merchandising, and day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the Parts Manager in the daily operation of the parts department
- Provide knowledgeable and professional service to retail, wholesale, and internal customers
- Help customers identify and purchase the correct OEM parts, accessories, riding gear, and apparel
- Assist technicians and service advisors with accurate parts lookup, ordering, and repair-order fulfillment
- Coach, train, and support parts-counter and apparel team members
- Monitor open orders, back-orders, special orders, lost sales, and customer follow-up
- Assist with purchasing, seasonal booking orders, inventory replenishment, and stock-level decisions
- Review sales history and demand to improve parts availability and inventory turnover
- Help manage aged, obsolete, and non-moving inventory
- Maintain accurate receiving, bin locations, pricing, transfers, returns, and warranty parts processes
- Support department sales, gross profit, inventory, and customer-satisfaction targets
- Help coordinate seasonal promotions and merchandising campaigns
- Maintain a clean, organized, protected, and customer-ready department
- Take responsibility for department operations when the Parts Manager is unavailable
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous parts experience in a powersports, motorcycle, ATV, automotive, heavy-duty, agricultural, or recreational dealership
- Leadership, supervisory, or senior parts-counter experience is preferred
- Strong parts-catalogue, inventory-control, and order-management skills
- Working knowledge of dealership management systems and electronic parts catalogues
- Confidence working with sales targets, gross profit, inventory aging, and key performance indicators
- Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coach employees and help create a positive, accountable team environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly seasonal dealership
- Genuine interest in motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, power equipment, or the Powersports industry
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to safely lift and move parts, tires, accessories, and merchandise as required
