Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining underground piping systems, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a variety of heavy equipment and tools. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating heavy machinery, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.

Duties

- Lay, assemble, and install underground piping systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging tools to excavate trenches and position pipes
- Use hand tools and power tools for cutting, fitting, welding, and securing pipe sections
- Perform trench shoring and ensure proper safety measures are in place during excavation activities
- Conduct inspections of installed piping for leaks or defects and make necessary adjustments
- Assist with electrical connections involving low voltage systems related to piping infrastructure
- Coordinate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining safety standards




- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition; perform routine maintenance as needed

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe installation and heavy equipment operation
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery such as low voltage systems and welding equipment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, rigging techniques, and welding processes
- Ability to operate bucket operation machinery safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of electrical systems, especially low voltage wiring associated with piping projects
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and trench work
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship

This position requires candidates to be detail-oriented, physically capable of handling demanding tasks, and committed to maintaining a secure work environment. Prior experience in pipe laying or related construction roles is highly valued.
