Afterschool Yoga & Mindfulness Program Teacher

Job Summary

Üphoria Yoga is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and energetic Afterschool Yoga & Mindfulness Program Teacher to join our growing team! In this role, you will lead engaging afterschool programs that combine yoga, mindfulness, movement, games, crafts, and social-emotional learning for children ages 5–10.

Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children can build confidence, develop healthy habits, and connect with others through movement and mindfulness.

Hours: Monday–Friday, between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM (2–5 shifts per week depending on availability).

Responsibilities

- Lead fun and engaging yoga, mindfulness, movement, and enrichment activities for children.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where every child feels welcome and supported.
- Encourage confidence, creativity, teamwork, and emotional well-being through age-appropriate activities.
- Supervise children during programming while ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assist with crafts, games, outdoor activities, and homework support when needed.
- Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, and fellow team members.
- Help set up and tidy program spaces before and after classes.
- Follow Üphoria Yoga's program policies and maintain a high standard of care.

Qualifications





- Experience working with children in a childcare, education, recreation, camp, or afterschool setting is preferred.
- Passion for working with children and supporting their emotional, physical, and social development.
- Background in yoga, education, Early Childhood Education (ECE/ECEA), recreation, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Positive, energetic, patient, and reliable.
- Robust communication and teamwork skills.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) is an asset.
- Criminal Record Check required prior to employment.

Transportation

A valid Class 5 driver's licence is not required, but it is considered a strong asset. Candidates who are comfortable driving may have opportunities to assist with school pick-ups or occasional transportation between program locations.
