Civil Construction Labourer

Position Objective:

This role is responsible for working on a civil labour crew operating construction machinery and working
with equipment from project start to finish.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Understanding of sewer and water materials and installation procedures Ability to properly use compaction equipment Ability to work safely and be aware of his surroundings at all times Digging holes and trenches Operating equipment and tools Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safely loading and unloading vehicles

with supplies and equipment as directed Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks) Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards Removal of all debris from work sites Assist with traffic control as directed Other duties as required Opportunities for professional development

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and remain detail oriented Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma and 2 years work related experience Experience operating construction equipment an asset

Required:

Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract; Ontario Secondary School Diploma or higher; WHMIS Worker Health and Safety Awareness Must provide PPE (workboots, gloves, safety glasses etc)

Other Information:

Hours: Days: Our core business hours are 7:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. This position may be
required to work overtime or offset shifts may be required based on operational needs.

Compensation: $16.50 to $22.00/hour

Start Date: Immediate
