Machine Operator (CNC, Polishing, Etching, and Blocking)
Job Type:
This is a starter position. All necessary training will be provided.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is self-motivated,
- Works well independently,
- Is punctual,
- Has basic math skills,
- Is passionate about their work, and
- Can stand on their feet for their 8-hour shift.
You will be:
- Operating equipment that grinds and polishes optical lenses for glasses,
- Keeping a close eye on equipment, making sure it's running correctly,
- Cleaning lenses,
- Inspecting lenses for visibile defects,
- Learning how to calibrate equipment, eventually without supervision,
- Learning how to diagnose and solve equipment issues with the help of tech support, eventually with minimal supervision, and
- Keeping your work area clean (clean counters, sweep/mop, empty heavy garbages into the street bin, etc).
On-the-job training in all tasks is provided. Some heavy lifting is required.
$18.00 per hour to start
- Weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm
