Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring they receive exceptional guest services and have a positive experience from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication skills, a polished appearance, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a passion for customer service is essential. The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth flow of operations and supporting our team in delivering outstanding service.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly first impression
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations or general questions
- Maintain waitlists and inform guests of estimated wait times accurately
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Monitor dining area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and guest comfort
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary
- Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of the host station and lobby area
- Support team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Skills
- Strong guest services skills with a welcoming demeanor
- Experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Previous restaurant experience or hotel experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Robust organizational skills with attention to detail
