Then the infrastructure team is for you!Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Traction Power Engineering Manager to join our Global Rail Systems team in Mississauga, Ontario location.In this role the ideal candidate is a results-driven engineering skilled with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Key for this role will be the ability to work well in a team environment and develop/mentor staff. Candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.As a successful candidate, you will:
Develop and manage major technical programs including control of scope, schedule and budgetProduce system designs from feasibility through Issue for Construction and eventually supporting through testing and commissioning of the systemOrganize, manage,
and inspire staff to achieve program objectivesManage owner and stakeholder interestsPresent ideas, concepts and details to owners, contractors, and others.Coordinate and build partnerships both internally with HATCH and externally with partners to achieve goalsReview work of others and provide detailed and constructive commentary in a professional settingWork with others to promote HATCH and develop opportunities for new workLead regional TP team to develop training, competency management schemes, quality documents and process, and technology improvements/innovations.You bring to the role:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical disciplineProfessional Engineering Licence or ability to acquire one within 6 monthsTen (10) years of experience in the rail electrification industry with at least three (3) of those working for manufacturers, contractors, or owners on at least one project based in the Canada.Five (5) or more years of multidisciplinary project experience such as planning, project management, or large project systems integrationExperience with both third rail and overhead catenary systemsDetailed knowledge of and experience with the design from first principals and implementation of DC systems ((phone hidden)/1500v), AC systems (12.5/25KV), grounding/bonding and EMI/EMC systems including but not limited to modeling and simulations,
preliminary design, detailed design, RAMS, programming, field testing, and V&VPreferred; experience with multi-vendor equipmentThe following skills/experience is a plus:
CAD tools (AutoCAD/MicroStation), BIM tools (Civil 3D and REVIT)Analysis and modeling tools for traction power load flow, arch flash, and grounding/bondingExperience in field testing of Traction Power SystemsKnowledge of current Cyber Security practicesProject management experienceBase salary range: $150,000 - $200,000At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
