As a vital member of the ACT multidisciplinary team, the Peer Support Associate provides insights from lived experience to enhance recovery processes. With 2 years working with severe mental illnesses, you'll connect directly with clients, empowering their choices and decision-making. Collaboration with team members promotes a culture of respect and understanding, ensuring customer-centric support services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide peer counseling and consultation to clients and families
• Assist in rehabilitation and support functions aligned with the ACT model
• Facilitate crisis recognition and intervention practices
• Liaise with community resources for enhanced support
• Promote client choice in treatment and recovery strategies
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in health or social services
• 2 years' experience with severe mental illness
• Training in Peer Support Work
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles
