Position Summary

A collaborative life sciences organization offering opportunities for impact and growth is seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing & Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership for a regulated manufacturing workplace. Reporting to the executive leadership team, this role is responsible for driving operational excellence, manufacturing performance, continuous improvement, and organizational growth while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead manufacturing, supply chain, production planning, facilities, and operational functions to achieve business objectives.
- Drive operational performance by improving productivity, efficiency, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and execute strategies to support business growth, manufacturing scalability, and operational excellence.
- Build a high-performance culture through strong leadership, accountability, coaching, and talent development.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational modernization initiatives.
- Oversee production planning, inventory, purchasing, supplier performance, and resource utilization.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and R&D; to support new product introductions, technology transfers, process validation, and regulatory compliance.




- Establish and monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and cost reduction initiatives while supporting long-term operational strategy.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, Health Canada, FDA, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing and operations leadership experience within a regulated industry (biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or similar).
- Demonstrated success leading manufacturing operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, quality systems, production planning, and operational KPIs.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is considered an asset.
