Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, part‑time (0.267 FTE) Faculty member to teach in the marketing management diploma in the fall term (September to December) in the area of digital marketing for tourism. Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby.

The hiring committee is seeking an industry expert with a passion for teaching and learning and a strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge.

Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, including demonstrated success developing and executing online marketing strategies and building owned, earned, and paid media campaigns for acquisition, conversion, retention, and growth objectives. Experience with SEO, paid search, display advertising, and social media marketing is required. Candidates are expected to bring recent, relevant examples of strategies they have developed and implemented, along with current hands‑on expertise to clearly demonstrate key processes and tools in practice. A balance of strategic perspective and tactical proficiency is essential for teaching this course. Demonstrated experience in the tourism sector is required.





The successful candidate will demonstrate strong self‑direction and leadership, the ability to adapt quickly to new environments, and a commitment to supporting the next generation of marketers, as shown through mentoring or related experience. They will also bring experience coaching, teaching, or managing teams in marketing strategy development and execution contexts.

- Marketing credential required; BCIT business diploma an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years’ proven success working in related roles.
- Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and/or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
- An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
- Excellent English‑language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial workplace.

Salary Range: $66,996 - $116,951 per annum. Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
