Your Role at impact.com :
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead human resources operations for our U.S. and Canada technical teams, ensuring alignment between people strategy and business objectives. Based in Victoria, BC, you will support a highly specialized, cross-border organization (including Engineering, Product, and IT).
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in HR best practices, employee relations, and organizational development, along with the ability to partner closely with senior and executive leaders to provide strategic guidance, propose innovative solutions, and drive initiatives that reflect both our business goals and company culture. Ultimately, this role serves as a trusted advisor on all aspects of people and organizational effectiveness—helping to shape a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive technical organization across the U.S. and Canada.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive technical leaders, aligning people strategies with departmental goals, workforce planning, and organizational design.
- Employee Relations & Performance: Manage complex employee relations issues, provide coaching to managers on performance management, and foster a culture of continuous feedback and development.
- Cross-Border Operations: Serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. and Canadian labor legislation, payroll, and benefits, ensuring full legal compliance and seamless HR operations across both regions.
- Data-Driven Insights: Leverage HR metrics and analytics (retention, engagement, time-to-hire, etc.) to diagnose organizational health, identify trends, and propose proactive solutions to executive leadership.
What You Bring:
- 2+ years proven work experience as an HR business partner
- Excellent people management skills
- Analytical and goal-oriented
- Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
- Thorough knowledge of labor legislation
- Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
- BS degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian perks and payroll
Salary Range:
$91,000.00 - $96,000.00 CAD per year, plus an additional 5% Company annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligibility to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant.
Note: This is the pay range the Company believes is equitable for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
