Position Summary
We are seeking a CNC Machinist to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our Goulds Pumps Canada service shop located in Nisku, AB. Building on centuries of pump design experience, PRO Services provides an array of services focused on reducing equipment total cost of ownership and increasing plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and other rotating equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements, with assistance as needed.
- Measure, mark, and scribble dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
- Set up and operate machine on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation to ensure functionality and performance.
- Develop specifications from general description and draw a sketch of the part or product to be fabricated.

- Proficient in relevant PC skills.
Experience
- 4+ years machining experience.
- Extensive experience working with CNC lathes and mills.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming.
- Knowledge of freehand programming and operation of CNC equipment (lathes and mills).
- Knowledge of manual machines is a preferred asset but not required.
Education / Certification
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Journeyman ticket relevant to machining (general machinist, tool and die maker, ETC).
