The client is located on Marine Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia .Applicants must be located in the Vancouver & Lower Mainland area or be willing to relocate.Role ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of SSD product linesIndependently detect, triage, and diagnose test failures, create detailed defect reports, and drive issues through to resolutionActively participate in and contribute to peer code reviews, defect management, and validation strategy improvementsPerform bug fixing and firmware validation of SSD firmware and NVMe features on complex embedded multi-core architecturesPartner closely with Firmware Engineers to optimize NVMe features for high-performance next-generation SSD productsProvide clear,
proactive technical status updates to domain leads on development and validation progressIdentify and report sightings and pre-sightings for suspected firmware issues before escalationUse advanced diagnostics and debugging tools to analyze and isolate design and firmware defectsServe as a technical representative in monthly and quarterly client meetingsContribute to process improvement initiatives, validation framework enhancements, and tooling optimizationsSkills & Qualifications3–5 years of hands-on programming experience in C/C++ and Python (all three are used actively in this role)Experience working with medium to large-scale enterprise codebasesProven ability to learn new systems and tools quickly with limited guidanceStrong experience with Git or similar source control systemsSolid understanding of Computer Science fundamentalsWorking knowledge of ASIC architecture and code optimization is a strong plusExperience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence) or similar project management toolsStrong analytical problem-solving skills with a mindset of continuous improvementBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experienceWho You AreA confident and effective communicator in both written and spoken EnglishHighly detail-oriented and quality-driven—you take pride in clean, reliable workA self-starter who thrives with autonomy and takes initiative without waiting for directionA natural problem-solver who enjoys debugging complex systemsComfortable working in client-facing environmentsCurious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learningOpen to receiving and applying constructive feedbackCalm and effective under pressure in high-performance engineering environmentsThis position offers a competitive base salary range of $70,000–$85,000 CAD, commensurate with experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
