In this newly created role, the Coordinator, Student Well-Being plays a cross-functional role supporting the delivery of IGNITE’s social, financial, and mental well-being programs and services for students at Humber Polytechnic and the University of Guelph-Humber. This includes support for the health and dental insurance plan, financial relief programs, self-care offerings, student clubs, equity hub events, and campus-wide wellness initiatives. Working closely with the Manager, Student Well-Being (both Social and Mental Health & Financial), the Coordinator provides operational and administrative support, event, and logistics coordination, and student staff supervision. The role will flex between portfolios based on workload priorities and peak activity periods, ensuring a consistent, high-quality student experience across all campuses. What you can expect in a Coordinator, Student Well-Being Role at IGNITE PROGRAM COORDINATION & STUDENT SUPPORT Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of wellbeing programs, events, and services across multiple portfolios. Act as a first point of contact for student inquiries related to IGNITE’s social, financial, and mental health well-being programs and services. Maintain accurate program records,
track metrics, and prepare reports for managers. Support the processing of applications (e.G., bursaries, financial relief, equity scholarships, clubs, etc.) and coordinate payment approvals with Finance. Provide guidance and logistical support for all wellness initiatives, including training coordination and communications. EVENT PLANNING & COMMUNICATIONS Coordinate wellness-related events, club activities, and engagement initiatives, ensuring logistics (bookings, materials, scheduling) are managed. Liaise with the Marketing & Communications team to promote events and programs through digital and print channels. ADMINISTRATIVE & REPORTING SUPPORT Maintain and update program documentation, databases, and student records. Support evaluation efforts by collecting and organizing feedback from surveys, focus groups, and other sources. Assist with budget tracking and preparing summary reports for wellness portfolios. TEAM LEADERSHIP & STUDENT STAFF SUPERVISION Schedule, supervise, and provide day-to-day direction for part-time student staff supporting wellbeing programs. Oversee training, onboarding, and quality control of student deliverables. COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATION Coordinate with institutional partners (e.G., Student Wellness & Accessibility, Financial Aid Office, Student Life Office, Equity Offices) for student referrals and joint initiatives. Represent IGNITE at campus working groups, wellness committees, and stakeholder meetings, as required. What IGNITE Will Expect From You Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Social Services, Education, Psychology or related field Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in student services, program coordination, or administrative support.
Strong event coordination and organizational skills. Experience in student engagement, leadership development, or wellness programming. Understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student service platforms. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong collaboration skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Sound leadership and supervisory abilities. Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement.
