Salary
$94,724 – $114,261 per year (pay range explained in internal documents)
Contract Details
1‑year term concluding 29 April 2027.
Work Hours
Standard hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Location
Fraser West – Katzie, Tsawwassen, Kwikwetlem and Semiahmoo First Nations (Surrey, Burnaby, Tri‑Cities, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows, White Rock and Delta). Requires travel within the community 5 days a week.

About the Centre
The Fraser West First Nations Primary Care Centre (FW‑FNPCC) will provide culturally safe, trauma‑informed primary care services to members of Katzie, Tsawwassen, Kwikwetlem and Semiahmoo First Nations and the surrounding Indigenous population. Services are delivered through a network of spoke sites, offering holistic care that integrates western medicine with traditional wellness practices.
About the Role
The Primary Care Registered Nurse works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma‑informed, culturally safe primary care. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct primary care services to clients at all life stages.
- Observing, assessing, monitoring, and documenting client health and progress.
- Making evidence‑based decisions to promote health and wellness.
- Ensuring a racism‑free and culturally safe environment for clients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrating cultural humility, trauma‑and‑violence informed care, and a two‑eyed seeing approach.
About You
Education:
- Completion of a recognised Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Occupational Certification:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- CPR Certification.
- BCCDC Immunization Certification (asset).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in primary care, public health, community, and/or chronic disease care.
- Experience working with and delivering health services to First Nations clients.
- Training in anti‑Indigenous racism response, cultural safety, and humility.
- Experience integrating holistic Indigenous approaches with western practices.
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of cultural safety, humility, and trauma‑informed approaches.
- Understanding and ability to apply First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
- Ability to practice using a two‑eyed seeing approach.
- Awareness of intersectionality, power, privilege, and their impact on practice.
- Understanding of rural and remote community challenges.
- Knowledge of health status of populations, health inequities, determinants of health, and primary care principles.
- Understanding of nursing processes, frameworks, theories, and practices.
- Demonstrated integration of trauma‑informed practice.
- Physical ability to perform job duties.
