Solutions Architect – Business Automation

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking Solutions Architect to join our Business Automation Team. In this strategic yet technically grounded role, you will act as a trusted technology advisor, translating complex business requirements into high-performance, executable designs. You will partner closely with business leaders, Business System Analysts, developers, and Enterprise Architecture peers to shape a modern technical vision that accelerates digital transformation and drives organizational efficiency.

This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact how our enterprise operates. You will look beyond traditional workflows to introduce new automation patterns, build future-proof technology roadmaps, and occasionally lead hands-on initiatives, such as developing Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate cutting-edge architectural directions.

How You’ll Contribute

- Architectural Design & Vision: Define, design, and facilitate solution architectures that optimize process, technology, data, and people. Own all major architectural decisions and technical roadmaps for the Business Automation portfolio.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Consult heavily with business partners and delivery teams to ensure technical solutions align perfectly with broader enterprise strategies and compliance regulations.
- Technical Diagnostics & Leadership: Serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure and development issues, assisting teams with technical diagnostics and ensuring long-term design quality.
- Roadmap Development: Create and maintain architectural artifacts,

defining current and target states to support smooth project delivery and application support frameworks.
- Team Coaching: Foster a high-performance culture by actively mentoring engineering teams through complex, ambiguous problem-solving scenarios.

What You Bring to the Table

- Experience Baseline: 6+ years of progressive experience architecting and designing solutions in complex, large-scale IT environments.
- Business Automation Expertise (Mandatory): Strong hands-on experience in at least two (2) of the following core capabilities: Content Management, Content Creation & Document Composition, Rules Engines, Document Exchange, or Knowledge Management.
- Preferred Tooling: Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions utilizing enterprise platforms such as IBM FileNet, CP4BA, OpenText, Appian, or commercial Rules Engines.
- Technical & Workflow Mastery: A deep understanding of Workflow (WF) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) principles, alongside hands-on experience authoring detailed system architecture and technical specifications.
- Cloud & Modern Tech Stack: Solid experience with cloud computing architectures (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS) and up-to-date infrastructure platforms (such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, EKS, Docker, or OpenShift).
- Integration & Microservices: Practical knowledge of modern integration patterns, APIs, microservices, DBMS, and core development languages.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate high-level technical concepts into business-value language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
