About Us

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

The School of Kinesiology at Western will be recognized globally as a leader in research and education through a multidisciplinary approach to Kinesiology. The School of Kinesiology at Western advocates the benefits of physical activity to society by providing a multidisciplinary approach to discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge about human movement and its effects. It also has a history of disciplinary (e.g. biomechanics, exercise physiology, history, management, psychology, sociology) around physical activity.

An introduction in a qualitative as opposed to a quantitative manner to the mechanical aspects significant to human movement in sport, exercise, dance, and the work place. An emphasis on the development of qualitative analytical skills using videotape technology.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.

Qualifications

Unless otherwise noted,



candidates must have a Master's degree (PhD preferred or be close to completion) and a demonstrated record of performance in university-level teaching.
