Mechanical Site Inspector (Building Systems) | GTA, ON

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established M&E; consulting engineering firm to support the hire of a Mechanical Site Inspector. This role is primarily site-based, supporting high-rise and low-rise multi-residential developments (95% of projects) across the GTA, with occasional exposure to other building types as required. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct on‑site inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing) during construction.
- Monitor work completed by general contractors and M&E; subcontractors.
- Identify deficiencies, non‑compliance issues, and construction discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed field reports documenting site conditions and findings.
- Track and follow up on deficiencies to ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders on‑site.




- Ensure installations align with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction, site inspection, or related field roles.
- Strong hands‑on experience working with general contractors and M&E; trades.
- Mechanical expertise is mandatory; electrical knowledge is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in residential construction projects (high‑rise or low‑rise).
- Solid report writing and documentation skills.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently on‑site and make practical, experience‑based decisions.

Compensation Transparency
