This role focuses on execution of Osler’s strategic data initiatives, including the firm-wide matter data management project. This is a highly collaborative role that requires the ability to work effectively in matrixed environments, build cross-functional relationships, and support change. If you are passionate about leveraging data to drive impact and insights in the business and practice of law, we would love to hear from you.This job posting is for an existing vacancy.ResponsibilitiesDesign and manage deal data extraction and analysis using AI and other technologyInitiate and manage the end-to-end process of deal data collection through automated workflows, deal surveys, and other automation toolsAssist in the remediation of legacy deal data, including closing books’ reviews and legal analysis of the completed transactionsManage internal deal data intelligence platform to gain “what’s market” insights required to support firm’s broader data initiativesSupport the firm’s data governance leaders and work collaboratively to continuously enhance the data culture at the firm and assist with related change leadership initiativesAssist in the execution of practice data strategy and support related projects,



processes and initiativesPosition RequirementsBe called to the Ontario BarIdeally have two years of post-call experience as a practicing lawyer in any common law province in CanadaPrior transactional experience is required, ideally in M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, and/or LendingKnowledge of legal technology used to support transactional teams in the legal sectorKnowledge And SkillsExceptional level of attention to detailBe proficient using technology and adaptable to changeData-driven approach to workDemonstrated ability to execute legal data-driven and analytical tasks successfullyStrong communication skills (both written and verbal)A self-starter with a positive and collaborative attitudeWe are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.CompensationThe range of expected compensation for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
