Overview 51464 - Toronto - Temporary 4-16 Months. Hiring salary range: $2,136.59 - $3,301.53 / bi-weekly. Hydro One is the largest electricity transmission and distribution provider in Ontario, serving nearly 1.5 million customers. The organization has a long history dating back to 1906 and focuses on providing exceptional customer service and building safe communities where people live, work and play. The role described here relates to a student opportunity with an award component. Award Details 10 Awards of $5,000 each are available for women-identifying students studying engineering at the undergraduate level in accredited Ontario universities. Women-identifying award recipients will also have the opportunity to engage in a paid developmental work term with Hydro One. Award Criteria All applicants must be: Canadian citizens or landed immigrants enrolled in full-time study in an accredited Ontario University. Preference will be given to electrical engineering students; women who have completed a minimum of two years of engineering studies in other areas (civil, software, systems, or computer engineering) are also encouraged to apply. Minimum B+ GPA is required. Strong oral and written communication skills. Students must be returning to school on a full time basis. Applicants must include a copy of their unofficial transcripts and an updated resume with their application. Engaged in outreach, volunteer, or educational activities with younger girls.



Selection of Winners Following the application deadline (November 1), applications are reviewed by Hydro One Management. The top candidates are shortlisted for an interview. Interview scores determine ranking, and the top candidates are chosen as recipients. Award Luncheon Hydro One will arrange an awards luncheon for the award winners and two invited guests where the monetary award will be presented. Work Term with Hydro One Winning students receive a paid developmental work term with Hydro One. Hydro One will contact award winners to arrange the work term, based on the work term conditions for the place of study. Hydro One requires that all students applying for student opportunities be enrolled in post-secondary studies and returning to full-time studies after the work term. Exceptions are made if a work term is required to graduate. Only applications submitted via Hydro One's career page will be accepted.
