Project Manager – Facilities
Position Overview
The Project Manager – Facilities is responsible for delivering sustaining capital and facility‑related projects across operating assets. The role focuses on brownfield execution, contractor oversight, cost and schedule control, and safe delivery of work within active terminals, fractionation facilities, and pipeline‑associated infrastructure. The PM supports operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sustaining capital and facility upgrade projects from definition through planning, field execution, commissioning, and closeout.
- Execute brownfield work safely within live operating environments, coordinating closely with operations and maintenance.
- Manage contractors, consultants, and third‑party service providers, including RFP development, proposal evaluation, and daily field oversight.
- Maintain accountability for project safety, cost, schedule, and quality throughout execution.
- Support regulatory‑critical and asset‑integrity initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, including troubleshooting and emergent issue response.
- Coordinate project execution components across internal stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, HSE).
- Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve operational challenges and ensure safe, reliable facility performance.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and governance requirements, including Management of Change (MOC).
Required Experience
- 7–15+ years of project management or project engineering experience in facilities, terminals, pipelines, or midstream/industrial environments.
- Proven experience delivering sustaining capital or brownfield facility projects (mechanical, civil/structural, piping, utility systems, equipment installations).
- Robust contractor management and field execution capability, including daily safe‑work permitting and supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, risk, and project controls.
- Experience working in operational midstream or energy facilities (fractionation, terminals, pipeline facilities).
Assets
- Mechanical, civil, or process engineering background.
- Experience with pipeline‑related facilities or terminal operations.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (AER, ABSA, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3).
Education
- Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration preferred.
