What is the role?

This is a tremendous opportunity to reinvent architecture in the AI Age. As a Staff AI Architect/Engineer, you will build AI‑powered solutions to aid our AI Architecture practices, governance and AI initiatives across the bank. You will contribute to AI standards and patterns to align with the rapidly evolving AI platforms, collaborate with RBC’s engineering teams to design well‑designed, reusable solutions, and partner with lines of business to create real value. You will also drive specific POCs for AI technology, working with vendors and engineering partners.

What will you do?

Partners closely with engineering and business teams to design and deliver scalable, secure and maintainable AI systems. Ensures solutions are built on the right platforms and patterns, are fit for purpose and can be practically implemented and maintained in production. Translate business and technical problems into implementable solution designs and contribute hands‑on development to bring those designs to life. Help establish an architecture mindset by reviewing designs, providing guidance and opinions; research technologies and evaluate vendors/partners. Collaborate with RBC’s engineering teams to ensure solutions are aligned to our AI technology strategy. Build tools, agents and MCPs to support and automate our architecture practice and drive an ‘as code’ mindset.

You are a builder with passion for AI, curiosity, and drive to turn ideas into reality. You take ownership, cut through complexity, understand root causes, and forward solutions.



You appreciate experimentation, rapid prototyping and continuous improvement, and are not afraid to test new ideas. Strong Python coding is required, with hands‑on experience with modern AI technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, and AI orchestration frameworks. You thrive in environments where emerging technology solves challenging problems.
