About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a growing team focused on hiring exceptional talent across corporate, instructional, and seasonal operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2 to 4 years of recruiting experience who enjoys sourcing hard-to-find talent, managing high-volume hiring initiatives, and partnering closely with hiring managers to build strong teams.
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition leader, you'll own the recruitment process for a variety of positions while helping scale hiring efforts during peak recruiting seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for corporate, instructional, and seasonal positions.
- Review large volumes of applications and identify qualified candidates based on role requirements.
- Proactively source passive candidates through LinkedIn, professional networks, university partnerships, job boards, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs.
- Conduct initial phone and virtual interviews, evaluate candidate qualifications, document interview feedback, and maintain accurate applicant tracking records.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and assist with offer preparation and candidate communications.
- Support onboarding activities, including employment documentation, background checks, system access, and new hire coordination.
- Assist with recruitment-related administrative tasks and hiring projects as needed.
- Maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, timelines, and ideal candidate profiles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in talent acquisition or full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience recruiting business, technical, corporate, or professional roles is strongly preferred.
- Previous agency recruiting or direct sourcing experience is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting high-volume hiring initiatives with multiple concurrent openings.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and modern recruiting tools.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience conducting interviews, writing candidate evaluations, coordinating hiring managers, and managing recruitment workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple searches in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work full-time from the company's Calgary office.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate enjoys identifying talent that others overlook and takes pride in building strong candidate pipelines before hiring needs become urgent. You're naturally curious, proactive, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously while delivering an outstanding experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable balancing strategy with execution. You'll enjoy developing sourcing plans, engaging passive candidates, coordinating interviews, solving hiring challenges, and ensuring every search moves efficiently from kickoff through offer acceptance.
What You'll Receive
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- A highly visible role with meaningful ownership over recruitment initiatives.
- Opportunities for career development and continued learning.
- A collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented team workplace.
- Clearly defined goals with opportunities for career progression.
- Team events and employee wellness initiatives.
- Professional development support for external courses, certifications, and workshops.
