Provides direct patient care to patients in the General Medicine/Nephrology PSU in accordance with standards of the College of Nurses organization. Embracing the philosophy of Person Centered Care;
- Collaborates with patients and families and multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care needs and documents information according to appropriate standards
- Engages in continuous learning and improvement activities in the work environment by providing feedback regarding areas progressing well and those requiring improvement
Qualifications
- Current Ontario Registration, B.Sc.N. preferred
- Successful completion of pre-interview quiz. Passing mark 80%
- Current B.C.L.S.
- Preferably with 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years
- Preferably with 5 years of general Internal Medicine experience
- Successful completion of Nephrology 1 or demonstrated nephrology experience in lieu of
- Demonstrates knowledge of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)
- Demonstrated knowledge in Person Centred Care approach and principles
- Demonstrated ability to implement and champion change
- Ability to set priorities in a team-oriented, rapid-paced environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated innovative practice in and appreciation of the unique needs and care of older adults
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
