As such, we are looking for an individual with an interest in taking on the most interesting bridge work Canada has to offer.This position will be responsible for the preliminary and detailed design of bridges and other civil structures for federal, provincial and municipal clients in Ontario. If you're interested in working on some of the largest projects in Canada, this is the perfect opportunity to join our hybrid design team.Your ImpactCarry out preliminary and detailed analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other civil structures for all levels of governmentManage bridge engineering projects, coordinate design teams, and support project management teams and technical teams across WSPPrepare engineering drawingsCheck designs and drawingsPrepare specifications and contract documentsPrepare forms of tender,
quantity take-offs and construction cost estimatesReview shop drawings and provide engineering support during constructionCarry out contract administration and construction supervisionPrepare reports and proposalsUndertake bridge inspections, assessments, and reportsSet up project meetings, record meeting minutes, and maintain action item listMay be required to provide technical guidance and direction to support staff, contractors, and/or vendorsThe Skills That Set You ApartUniversity degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer with 5-10 years demonstrated experience in structural design and bridge engineering in CanadaSuperior technical understanding, design abilities, and current on bridge technologiesWorking knowledge of structural analysis software used in bridge designSpecific areas of expertise required are in the planning, preliminary and detail design, and construction of bridges of standard and complex geometry, and culverts. A thorough knowledge of current Canadian design codes and standards is essentialExperience with inspection, assessment and rehabilitation of existing structuresExperienced in report and proposal writingEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work on several projects at a time with multiple design teamsA committed team player with a willingness to help others and collaborate with team membersDemonstrates sound written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical and application skillsWorks well under pressure to meet project deadlinesA valid driver's licenseCompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 – $118,500Disclosure:The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.#J-18808-Ljbffr
