About SkyAlyne

SkyAlyne is a team of defense, training, simulation, and aviation industry experts assembled from across Canada, working to prepare the next generation of RCAF Pilots and Aircrew as the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program provider for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). SkyAlyne was formed in 2018 as a partnership between CAE and KF Aerospace, two Canadian aviation, training, and defense leaders. The partnership was built to jointly answer the call for the Government of Canada’s FAcT program. In 2023 SkyAlyne was named the preferred bidder, and in 2024, was officially contracted to partner with the RCAF and deliver the FAcT program. We are now building a current team to deliver the FAcT program.

The scope of the FAcT program includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aerospace requirements of the RCAF. The FAcT program is overseen from a Joint Management Office at SkyAlyne’s Ottawa headquarters in Kanata, with three operational bases: Moose Jaw, SK, Southport, MB, and Winnipeg, MB.

In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, Team SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

Job Overview

The Security & Facility Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting the Head of Quality, Safety, Security and Facilities (EHSQ) with managing security compliance, and facility maintenance and operations at SkyAlyne’s head office. This position will play a key role in overseeing the implementation and maintenance of facility management and operational security functions, adhering to contractual requirements, industry standards and regulations as well as best practices.

Key responsibilities will include co-ordinating a range of facility-related activities critical to organizational operations and logistics including facility modifications, maintenance, and additions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Management

- Support ongoing office reconfigurations, including setting up and rearranging meeting room and workstation layouts to meet operational needs.
- Respond to facility-related emergencies, disruptions, and security incidents,



ensuring timely communication and proper escalation.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules for safety and infrastructure equipment.
- Maintain regular upkeep of equipment and supplies adhering to health and safety standards
- Identify facility security threats and risks as well as recommend tools, systems or process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of security and facility operations.
- Coordinate and supervise activities related to plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and other facilities operations.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effective and timely service delivery.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and participate in joint health and safety committee meetings.

Security

- Develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve upon security protocols and facility management systems.
- Serve as the Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO), ensuring full management of physical assets and personnel access in compliance with company and Government of Canada security requirements.
- Monitor and report on the status of security clearances, facility projects, and ongoing maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and issue resolution.
- Co‑ordinate with internal teams and external contractors and vendors to complete facility management projects. plan and deliver facility modifications, additions, and related infrastructure work.
- Maintain accurate documentation for security and facility operations, including incident reports, maintenance logs, clearance records and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation, including security requirements, health & safety regulations, and building codes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government officials, service providers, and internal stakeholders to support security and facility operations.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, security, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience working in security, facility management,



building maintenance and operations or related functions within the Government of Canada or similar organizations or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience managing office facilities, including operational and maintenance activities such as office moves, renovations, and ongoing upkeep.
- Knowledge of Government of Canada security requirements, including Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) responsibilities and Controlled Goods Program is a strong asset.
- In-depth knowledge about regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and emergency preparedness.
- Training in security screening, compliance and information protection would be a preferred asset.
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Certificate (FMC) credentials would be an asset.
- First Aid and CPR certification would be an asset
- Proficiency with various software systems such as Microsoft suite and Service Requirement management systems.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with a focus on the ability to prepare reports and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure facilities meet all safety regulations and standards.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the Defence and Aerospace industries would be an asset.
- Be able to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level) and Controlled Goods Clearance.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Strong oral and written English language capabilities.
- Fluency in French would be an asset.
