Business Specialist – Credit Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Business Specialist – Credit Analyst to support a Private Banking team by reviewing, structuring, and validating credit applications for high-net-worth clients. This role focuses on improving credit quality, ensuring lending policy compliance, and supporting frontline advisors throughout the credit approval process.

Responsibilities

- Review credit applications prior to submission to identify documentation gaps and ensure policy compliance.
- Structure and prepare credit applications for approval.
- Conduct post-approval reviews to verify lending conditions before funding.
- Provide guidance and support to frontline banking teams on credit documentation and processes.
- Analyze financial statements and complex credit structures.
- Collaborate with risk,



operations, and lending partners to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

- Several years of experience in personal and/or commercial lending, credit adjudication, or credit writing.
- Robust understanding of lending principles and credit risk.
- Experience analyzing financial statements and complex credit structures.
- Knowledge of capital markets is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
