Summary
The Cash Management Group at Canaccord Genuity is seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Investment Associate to support our Institutional Investment Advisors and broader Private Wealth platform. Our team manages over $7 billion in client assets and is built on a foundation of collaboration, accountability, and exceptional client service.
This is a senior, hands‑on role that blends client service, operations, leadership, and product coordination. You will act as a key partner to Investment Advisors, lead and mentor a team of Associates and Client Service/Operations professionals, and work closely with external partners and issuers to bring investment solutions to our clients.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment while maintaining a strong client‑first mindset.
This role is fully onsite at our downtown Vancouver office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of client deliverables including investment proposals, portfolio reviews, and reporting materials
- Oversee account lifecycle management including onboarding, transfers, maintenance, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and trade instructions
- Maintain high‑quality client records across Salesforce and internal systems
- Partner with internal teams (trading, compliance, operations) to ensure productive execution and issue resolution
- Support Advisors in managing pipelines, tracking client activity, and coordinating prospect engagement
- Assist in preparing materials for prospective clients and institutional relationships
- Track and report on key business metrics (calls, meetings, conversion, etc.)
- Liaise with external partners, issuers, and product providers to source and structure investment solutions
- Support product due diligence, onboarding, and ongoing coordination with partners
- Stay informed on market trends and investment products relevant to client needs
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and client experience
- Leverage systems (CRM, Excel, reporting tools) to improve data tracking and workflow automation
- Provide senior‑level support to Institutional Investment Advisors, ensuring seamless execution of client strategies and requests
- Act as a key point of contact for high‑value clients, ensuring timely, professional communication and follow‑up
- Coordinate and support client meetings and sales road trips, including preparation of materials and post‑meeting execution
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Associates and Client Service/Operations professionals
- Establish workflows, delegate responsibilities, and ensure high standards of performance and accountability
- Support training and onboarding of new team members
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence
Skills & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or higher level of education
- Registered Representative licensing under CIRO
- 5–7+ years of experience in private wealth, institutional support, or investment operations
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring junior team members
- Robust leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong client service mindset with the ability to manage high‑value relationships
- Proactive, self‑starter with a strong work ethic
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and internal wealth platforms
- Comfort working with cloud‑based tools and reporting systems
