This role is a Claims Leader in the Global Corporate & Specialty Property claims team. The position focuses on driving your team’s performance, developing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving claims processes and customer experience.

What You’ll Do

- Lead a team of Commercial Property specialists, examining and directly handling claims.
- Identify, assess, and retain top talent to strengthen the business.
- Understand and support staff through training, career development, and performance management.
- Conduct honest, constructive conversations, set clear goals, and provide feedback to enhance performance.
- Lead change initiatives positively and effectively.
- Apply risk‑management controls appropriately.
- Drive technical development of claims file handlers.
- Ensure the team has the tools needed to meet GCS policyholders’ unique demands.

Operational & Performance Effectiveness

- Create an environment dedicated to exceptional customer outcomes and champion service improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as underwriting, vendor managers, and account managers to fulfill Aviva’s value proposition.
- Use data to assess people and business performance and initiate improvement activities.
- Analyze customer demand to identify root causes of waste and failure.
- Be on the front line to understand team capability and unit performance.
- Make data‑driven decisions and identify performance blockers or barriers.
- Leverage frontline insight to enhance overall performance and the customer journey.




- Participate in the quality assurance program and collaborate with the GCS Coach on training needs.
- Comprehend and mitigate internal and external claims risks while meeting compliance obligations.
- Take full responsibility for team results and understand the impact of key decisions.

Business & Financial Acumen

- Clearly articulate the link between purpose, strategy, commitment, and culture.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of commercial claims and their technical strategy.
- Identify incremental improvements to benefit customers.
- Understand financial elements of the claims function to sustain financial strength and deliver year‑on‑year improvement.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial information in Aviva systems.
- Report suspicions of fraud or financial irregularities in accordance with Aviva procedures.

Innovation

- Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey, claims handling processes, and financial outcomes.
- Lead change initiatives for the team and business function.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to drive joint innovations.

What You’ll Bring

- CIP or FCIP industry designation.
- University degree, college diploma, or equivalent property technical work experience.




- 10+ years of experience in claims/insurance with a solid understanding of Commercial Property.
- Previous leadership experience, including coaching through change.
- Performance‑management and career‑development skills.
- Technical competence in Commercial insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to derive insights from data to improve people performance.
- Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
