In this fulfilling position, you will assess, plan, and implement recreation therapy tailored specifically for residents in a long-term care setting. Your commitment to promoting well-being will be essential as you help residents participate in suitable activities under the guidance of the Interdisciplinary Team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess residents’ needs and preferences for recreational activities
• Create and adjust treatment plans for optimal engagement
• Communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary team members
• Guide Recreation Therapy Aides in facilitating activities
• Contribute to team meetings regarding resident involvement
Requirements:
• Completion of Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy
• Registration eligibility with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association
• Preferred experience in a health care setting, especially with seniors
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
