We are seeking a highly organized and dependable HR Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution of our Human Resources function. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with people, thrives in a quick-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely, and professional HR support.
Position Overview
The HR Coordinator provides administrative and coordination support across Steelcon's Human Resources programs and processes. Working closely with the HR team, leaders, and employees, this role ensures HR activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and timelines.
The successful candidate will support employee onboarding, training administration, record management, reporting, HR systems, and employee communications while contributing to the efficient delivery of HR services across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, HR files, and employee data within established systems.
- Prepare employment-related documentation and other HR correspondence.
- Ensure HR records are organized, current, and maintained in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements.
- Monitor data accuracy and support ongoing maintenance of HR systems, trackers, and employee information.
- Assist with workforce reporting, HR metrics,
and administrative reporting requirements.
Onboarding, Training & Employee Support
- Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure new employees receive required documentation, information, and resources before their start date.
- Track onboarding completion and follow up with employees and leaders to ensure all onboarding requirements are completed.
- Coordinate training schedules, registrations, attendance tracking, and training documentation.
- Maintain training, certification, and compliance records to support organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to routine employee inquiries with professionalism, confidentiality, and a service-oriented approach.
HR Programs & Process Support
- Coordinate HR programs, initiatives, communications, meetings, and program logistics.
- Support the administration of performance management, employee engagement, and other people-related processes.
- Assist with employee relations administration and related documentation.
- Support compliance activities and help ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness.
Coordination & Communication
- Schedule interviews, meetings,
orientations, training sessions, and other HR-related activities.
- Coordinate communication between HR, managers, employees, and external partners as required.
- Prepare meeting materials, maintain schedules, and track action items to ensure timely completion.
- Support the delivery of a positive employee experience through responsive and professional service.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of Human Resources, coordinator, administrative, or related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of Human Resources principles, policies, and practices.
- Experience maintaining employee records, documentation, and confidential information.
- Experience with Dayforce HRIS or a similar Human Resources Information System is considered an asset.
- Solid organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative, collaboration, and a commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
