Covenant House is seeking a full time, permanent Street Outreach Worker to connect directly with youth experiencing homelessness. In this role, you will utilize trauma-informed practices and harm reduction approaches to build trusting relationships. Responsibilities include emergency support, access to essential services, and crisis stabilization in various community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct outreach in encampments and shelters
• Build relationships using trauma-informed practice
• Provide basic needs support like food and clothing
• Distribute harm reduction tools such as naloxone
• Assist youth in accessing essential community services
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child & Youth Work or Social Work
• 2-3 years of experience with vulnerable youth
• Knowledge in crisis intervention and safety planning
• Empathetic, non-judgmental engagement skills
• Familiarity with community resources and housing supports
Support young people with compassion and proactive outreach while promoting their long-term stability at Covenant House.
