Our client is a well-established and growing residential construction organization with operations spanning low-rise and high-rise developments. With a strong commitment to employee wellbeing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, they are seeking a Team Lead, Health & Safety to support and strengthen their health and safety culture across construction sites, manufacturing operations, and corporate offices.
Your new role
As the Team Lead, Health & Safety, you will play a key role in promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance on occupational health and safety legislation, ensure compliance with internal programs and regulatory requirements, and support leaders in maintaining secure work environments.
This position combines field-based safety oversight with program administration, training coordination, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives. While this role does not currently have direct reports, strong leadership, coaching, and influencing capabilities are essential, as you will serve as a process leader across multiple business units.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3–5+ years of health and safety experience within the construction industry.
- Strong experience supporting low-rise, high-rise, and/or commercial construction projects.
- NSCO designation or equivalent health and safety certification.
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience performing site audits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety orientations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and motivate teams toward safe work practices.
- Experience leading safety initiatives, programs, or cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for travel between offices and construction sites.
